HOW TO WRITE A BLOG POST IN 6 STEPS.
- Do Some Research
WHY??? You got to figure out what is it you want to write. What kind of title you want to have and what kind of content you want to place within that blog post.
HOW DO I FIND KEYWORDS ON GOOGLE?
There are many ways to find keywords for Google. You can go straight to Google and use its search bar to find keywords ideas.
Just go to Google and search for something related to your niche it will automatically suggest some different ideas for content. These ideas come from actual search volumes. These are ideas that people themselves are looking for.
Google stores that information and so when they see you are typing out a certain keyword, it will think you’re interested in that and suggest more that people are actually searching for.
Something else you can use and personal use is Ubersuggest. It’s a great tool with many different options. Click here to visit the website.
When you search for a keyword on Ubersuggest you can see lots of useful information about it: like how competitive it is, how many people are searching for it in a month, and some other things.
- Decide the Goal, Purpose of your Post
Here you want to think about what exactly is it that I want to teach in this blog post. And how do I write it down into steps or different bullet points?
So what you’ve to do is create that content in a very consumable way. So you want to come up with the main objective and what you want the readers to accomplish after reading the post.
NB: Let your blog post be something that people can read through pretty easily, that way if they only have 60seconds and they just want to scan through your blog post they can easily do that and get the main objective there.
- Outline the Post
Now comes the actual writing part of this “how to write a good blog post guide”.
When writing my blog posts I always like to start off with outlining my post as that helps me to stay organized and to know what I’m writing about exactly. I always like to think of the post I’m writing and how I can break it down.
Your goal should be to make the post as easy to read as possible. Make it easy for people otherwise they won’t bother with reading it and they will leave and you don’t want that).
- Write the Post
Now that you have all the keywords ready, you have decided the objective of your post and your content plan. It’s time to actually write that excellent blog post.
A good blog post must contain these 4 elements:
- Photos/ Videos
Introduction: An introduction should be short and straight to the point. Make sure that the topic of your post is clear from the beginning.
Body: Break it down into shorter paragraphs and use different levels of headings so it’s easier for people to read.
Photos/ Videos: Make sure you add photos or videos to your blog post to make it easy and enjoyable to read. Nobody likes to read big chunks of text. So use photos or videos to spicy things up.
Conclusion: Summarize the article in a few sentences and include a call to action and that’s it.
Quick one let me know in the comment section if you would love to know where to get free stock photos for your blog post. I would gladly write the post for you guys.
- Edit the Post/ Spelling Check
This step you should never miss. Having lots of spelling mistakes and grammatically incorrect sentences makes you look unprofessional and you don’t want that.
Going over your post and rereading it over and over again can be time-consuming and not very efficient (plus you can skip lots of things)
So that’s why I recommend Grammarly. Grammarly is a tool that helps you find and correct your mistakes, from spelling to grammar to style and so more.
It is FREE and also has a paid version. You can start with the free version it does the job well.
Just click here and visit their website. It is so easy to install and use.
This tool Grammarly, to be very honest has saved my life. Made my life a lot easier.
- Final Check
You’re almost done with writing your blog post, all that’s left is the final check.
Here are some things you should check before you hit that publish button.
- Add at least 3 links to your own pots that are relevant and related to the topic (inter-linking).
- Add your featured image. The featured image is the image your readers will see before reading the post.
- Add your categories and tags.
- Add alt tags to all your photos.
- Check your Yoast SEO analysis at the bottom of the post and fix any problems. (If you’re on WordPress).
- Preview the post to see if everything looks good. (Make sure you preview for mobile because people consume content more on mobile).
- Read the article again to make sure it’s all good.
- And the final step is to hit the publish button.
That’s it Guys.
